Salon
Bob Green
Position
Receptionist/Assistant Manager
Number of years working in the hair industry?
2 years
Background / how you got into this industry / travel experiences / something interesting about yourself...
After a stint of work experience in my early teens, I worked as a Jnr. in a midlands based salon for a year. Although it wasn’t my ambition to become a hairdresser I enjoyed the environment and found it a cool place to earn money as a teenager. However, I got back into the business last year after a chance meeting with the Artistic Director of Bob. Bob provided good opportunity to do something different in London and I was happy to get involved
What motivates / inspires you in this industry?
Both the creative and social aspects of working with hairdressers are enjoyable reasons to stay. Additionally, the first and last person a client will encounter in the salon will almost always be the receptionist so it is easy from that position to personalise the service and build a good rapport with the people who use Bob
What do you enjoy about your job?
Being part of a dynamic team and having the opportunity to work in a creative environment has worked as inspiration for my own interests outside of work such as music and writing etc. as well as motivated me toward doing what I do in the salon well. Brainstorming concepts for photo shoots is always fun too
Awards and training
HND Music Production, TEFL, Shampoo Training and Voice Tutor
What hair item / product would you take to a desert island?
Roots Uplifting Shampoo, Grooming Crème and Vitamin E Hair Oil
Favourite item of clothing?
Boxers and Boots and I’m good to go
